Cancer patients to hold vigil outside Loulé town hall

The Movement in Defence of Algarve Cancer Patients will hold a vigil outside Loulé town hall on Tuesday, December 13 at 3pm.

The event is being held in protest against a government decision which forces patients to travel around 400kms (round trip) to receive radiotherapy treatment in Seville.

This has been happening since an international bid for the Algarve’s radiotherapy services was won by a Spanish company, meaning already fragile cancer patients in the region have to travel huge distances to receive treatment.
