Peanut allergy kills
A TEENAGER from Quebec, with a peanut allergy, has died after kissing her boyfriend – he had eaten a peanut butter sandwich hours earlier. Fifteen-year-old Christina Desforges could not be revived after going into anaphylactic shock, in spite of being given a shot of adrenaline. Paediatric allergist Karen Sigman said if peanuts are still on the tongue or lips, they can cause a reaction. Desforges’ parents are planning a memorial service on Saturday.
