Caminus Duo – Joana Vieira Shumova (piano) and Mikhail Shumov (cello) – will give two concerts on October 18 and 20 at Os Agostos country estate, located above Santa Bárbara de Nexe and near Bordeira.
On Tuesday, Joana and Mikhail will play music by Glazunov, Tchaikovsky, Freitas Branco, Prokofiev and Martinu, while on Thursday they will play compositions by Brahms, Piazzolla and Rachmaninov.
Caminus Duo was formed in 2009. Since then Joana and Mikhail developed a vast repertoire which they have performed in many concerts in the UK, Portugal, Russia, Italy and Spain to considerable critical acclaim.
Mikhail Shumov was born in Moscow in 1983 where he started his musical studies at a very early age. He has participated in many concerts both as a solo artist and as a chamber musician and has won many prizes. Mikhail is currently principal cellist of the Orquestra Clássica do Sul in Faro.
Joana Vieira Shumova is Portuguese and started her piano studies at Faro’s Maria Campina Music Conservatory. She continued her studies at the Escola Superior de Música de Lisboa and the Instituto Piaget in Almada, and has performed in many countries.
Concerts begin at 7pm sharp. Entry donation is €25 per person.
