Work to redevelop the 19th century Câmara building in Alcoutim is set to start at the beginning of next month.
Municipal departments have temporarily been relocated to other buildings in the town while the restoration project, by local architect Vítor Brito, is being carried out.
Building work, expected to be completed within 14 months, represents an investment of more than €610,000, half funded by the State.
The Câmara says the project is very important as it concerns the regeneration of a historical building connected to the provision of public services.
