VILA REAL de Santo António Câmara has been accused by the Communist party (PCP) of abandoning the Vila Nova de Cacela area.
In 2006, the Vila Nova de Cacela PCP said that instead of spending money on essential works, the social democrats running the câmara had spent 1.2 million euros on parties and festivals.
The câmara said it would improve the water and drainage system in the area, but work has yet to begin. In a statement, the PCP pressured the câmara to release start dates for work to begin on the road infrastructure, cemetery, morgue and municipal market.
