Calling all sweet-tooths to Faro!

Calling all sweet-tooths to Faro!

A wide variety of regional and cloister sweets will be on offer at Feira do Doce Regional e Conventual, one of Faro’s longest-running gastronomic events.

Taking place between Wednesday and Sunday (August 24-28) at Jardim Manuel Bívar, the event is making its return for its 34th edition after a two-year break due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

The goal is to “promote traditional Portuguese sweets,” particularly those made in palaces and convents across the country, says Bruno Lago, president of the parish union of Faro which organises the event.

It also aims to give residents and tourists an opportunity to buy “genuine and quality products”, which aside from the sweets also includes regional drinks and liqueurs.

The fair will be open every day from 6pm to midnight. Admission is free.
