‘Algarve Coolest Dog’ charity contest takes place this Saturday at Mar Shopping Algarve
Woofland by Iron Dog at Mar Shopping Algarve in Loulé is organising a special contest on Saturday (September 23) called ‘Algarve Coolest Dog’.
Beginning at 4pm, the event aims to raise donations for animal associations in the Algarve whilst also providing a fun afternoon for dogs and their owners.
The four-legged contestants will be in the running to be distinguished in the following categories: the funniest, the coolest puppy, the best recall, the best lie down, the best sit, the best stay, the best rescued dog, the best veteran, the best pedigree dog, the best male, the best female, the happiest dog, the most relaxed dog, the best biscuit catcher. The winners of each of these categories will then compete in the ‘Best in Show’ final.
The event’s judges will be representatives from the dog training schools Iron Dog Algarve and Woofland by Iron Dog.
All participants will receive a participation certificate, souvenirs, and will be eligible for a surprise draw at the end. Although participation is free, dog owners are asked to bring essential items to donate to an animal association, including food, blankets, leashes, collars, bowls, or any other pet products.
This charity event will also allow all participants to vote for their favourite association, and the one with the most votes will be chosen to receive the donations resulting from the event.
Only dogs aged four months and older with up-to-date vaccinations can participate.
