More than 50 people indulged in cake eating and tea drinking to raise money for the Barlavento Riding for the Disabled (RDA Barlavento) group on June 10.
An art exhibition, bring and buy stall, book stall and an array of homemade English style cakes and preserves were on sale in Vila do Bispo, while a raffle with prizes donated by UK Food Supplies and Raul Milhano Hair Salon, both located in Lagos, helped to raise a grand total of more than 500 euros to be donated to the charity.
The event was held at the home of Stephanie Gray, who said: “I had a lot of help from my very good friends, my friend Janice and I love baking cakes and as our families have left home we were pleased to have an appreciative audience!”
Frank Bulmer of the RDA Barlavento said: “We had great fun at the coffee morning and were amazed at how much money was raised. A big thank you to everyone who supported the event as we totally rely on voluntary help and donations to keep the group running.”
