Cabanas campsite project unveiled

A CAMPSITE with a capacity for 1,000 people and 300 caravans will soon be constructed in Cabanas, Tavira. Representing an investment of 2.4 million euros by promoter, Fernando Ferreira Rocio, the site totals an area of 56,368sqm and is likely to be awarded a three-star classification. It is foreseen that building work will start in September of this year, concluding in October 2007.

The main objective of building the campsite is to contribute to the development of tourism in Cabanas and to respond to the demand for this kind of facility within the borough (see related article in The Resident issue of March 10).

The campsite will comprise three distinct areas: one for tents, another for caravans and campervans, and another for mobile homes. The campsite will also have restaurants, a supermarket, reception, first-aid unit, management office and security centre. Located in the central section of the park will be toilets and showers, laundry and kitchen facilities, children’s park, leisure space and a shaded area with trees. The area for use by mobile homes will comprise a swimming pool, refreshments kiosk and an extended open leisure space.
