It was another busy week for Bowls Algarve. Saturday, March 25, the rain stopped just long enough for Balaia Bowls Club to have a Crazy Golf afternoon on Club Albufeira. Some of the holes were water-logged making a few more ‘water hazards’ than usual.
Brian Denyer won the prize for the lowest number of shots at 61, whilst Helen Impey won the prize for the highest number at 99. The afternoon was followed by a meal at restaurant O Pavilhão on Club Albufeira.
Monday, March 27 the rain had passed through and Floresta Bowling Club was able to host a visiting team from Harrogate, Yorkshire. A bus-full of anxious bowlers arrived early giving everyone time to socialise and settle down before the game. A very competitive game was enjoyed by all who participated, with the visitors taking overall shots.
Wednesday, March 29 was sunny and bright for Balaia Bowling Club to host a visiting team from Totland Bay during a warm afternoon. A noisy, jolly game followed, with the visitors taking overall shots. Drinks were hosted around the green afterwards.
The sun was still shining on Thursday, March 30, when Balaia Bowling Club hosted another visiting team, Cornish Travellers. A lively morning again with much laughter and Balaia taking overall shots. Drinks on the terrace followed and were enjoyed by all.
Balaia welcomes bowlers of all levels and has its roll up on Tuesdays and Fridays at 9.45am for 10am start. All are welcome.
