Busy time for Algarve bowlers

Thursday, November 15 saw the fourth Super 10’s game in the competition.

Valverde took six points from Balaia who won two points. Albufeira took all eight points in their game against Pedras, and Floresta took all eight points from Tavira in their game.

The table now has Valverde at the top with 23 points, with Albufeira chasing on 22 points and Floresta close behind on 19 points. Alvor bringing up the rear with four points, but there is still a long way to go to the end of the season, and places can change.

In League A, on Saturday, November 17, a cold, cloudy day, the teams assembled, with Floresta Foresters taking all eight points from Alvor Scorpions. Pedras Panthers shared the eight points with Albufeira Cats, taking four each. Tavira Tigers and Valverde Vipers also shared the points, four for each club, and Valverde Vulcans took all eight points from Floresta Rangers.

Table A has Valverde Vulcans at the top with 28 points, with Floresta Foresters chasing on 22 points, following closely behind Valverde Vipers with 21 points. Floresta Rangers are holding up the league with eight points.

League B saw Alvor Rooks taking six points from team mates Alvor Amigos who took two points. Alvor Greens won six points from Floresta Huntsman who won two points, whilst Balaia Whalers and Valverde Vikings shared the points with four each. Balaia Pods were resting this week.

Table B has Floresta Huntsmen at the top on 20 points, closely followed by Alvor Greens on 19 points, and Valverde Vikings chasing on 17 points. Alvor Rooks is this week’s strong team supporting the league holding eight points.

Tuesday, November 20 sees the first game in the Cameron Cup competition. We all hope the weather remains kind to us. Many of the first round of games in the Inter-Club competitions have now been played, moving into the second round, making a very busy time for all bowlers.
