March 16 marked the beginning of cruise season for Portimão port, with the stopover of British cruiseliner “Thomson Majesty”.
It was the first of many, and by the end of April, the local council expects to have welcomed 10 cruise ships carrying approximately 7,400 passengers.
If forecasts are extended to the rest of 2014, the municipal authority is counting on 44 stopovers with a total of around 20,000 passengers.
