Busy bowling week before Christmas

Here we are at the end of the first half of the bowling season, and a busy week it has been. The second round and last Cameron Cup before Christmas occurred on Tuesday, December 4.

Alvor won all six points from Floresta, Valverde took four points from Albufeira who won two, and Pedras took all six points from Balaia. This takes Alvor to the top of the table with 12 points, with Albufeira and Pedras chasing closely behind on eight points, and Valverde on six points. Balaia and Floresta are on zero points.

Thursday, December 6 was Super 10’s day. Floresta won seven points from Alvor, winning one, Albufeira won all eight points from Balaia, and Tavira and Valverde shared the points with four each. The table now has Floresta and Albufeira sharing the top slot with 34 points each, Valverde are closing in on the top teams with 29 points. Alvor is the strongest team holding up the table on 11 points.

On Saturday, December 8 saw the teams assemble for the final Winter League game before the Christmas break.

Floresta Rangers took all eight points from Valverde Vipers, Valverde Vulcans held Alvor Scorpions to a six-point-to-two win, Pedras Panthers and Tavira Tigers shared the points with four each, and Albufeira Cats shared the points with Floresta Foresters with four each.

This keeps Valverde Vulcans at the top of the table with 44 points, Floresta Foresters closing on 39 points and Albufeira Cats chasing on 30 points. Alvor Scorpions are on 19 points.

In League B, Alvor Rooks won six points from Balaia Pods, winning two, Alvor Amigos took seven points from Floresta Huntsmen on one point, and Balaia Whalers took all eight points from Alvor Greens. Valverde Vikings were the resting team this week. Balaia Whalers and Alvor Amigos now share the top of League B table with 30 points each, Alvor Greens chasing on 25 points, with team mates Alvor Rooks holding up the league on 18 points.

The main competitions now take a rest over Christmas, but several of the Inter-Club competitions are still taking place.
