Professor Carlos Vieira (pictured) from the department of management, hotel and tourism industry at the Faro-based University of the Algarve has been awarded a Business Excellence Award in the 2009 Hispanic Leadership and Business Excellence Awards.
This is the highest award given by the Statewide Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, which brings together 70,000 Hispanic businesses in New Jersey in the US.
According to chamber of commerce spokesman Daniel Jara, Professor Carlos Vieira was chosen to receive the award “for the merit and excellence of his professional career and also for the international projection that he achieved from an academic point of view, through conferences in different countries and from his activities as a lecturer at the University of the Algarve”.
