Bus security

CAMERAS HAVE been installed on Carris buses in Lisbon as a security measure at a cost of 2.6 million euros.

Some 370 camera units have already been installed and when the project is completed there will be a total of 810 units with a direct link to the transport police of Lisbon.

It is hoped that the cameras will reduce the incidents against customers, drivers and employees at the company, including robberies, vandalism and acts of aggression against drivers.
