We take the Algarve Resident every week and enjoy the majority of the content of your journal.
However, I was very annoyed to read the anti-bullfighting English (generally) lobby condemning this national event which is enjoyed by most Portuguese (and most Spanish folk) because it is cruel to the animals.
When you are in a foreign country, you should respect the customs of that country and try to ignore the bits that you do not like.
I detest bullfighting and will not ever attend an event. However, I would defend the rights of the Portuguese and Spanish to continue with their national sports.
As residents or visitors, please enjoy what the Algarve offers you and mind your own business about the things you don’t like.
