An interview with Steve Rodgers of Fiduciary Wealth Management
What is your company’s background?
We are the private wealth arm of the Fiduciary Group, formed in 1982 and affiliated to Gibraltar’s oldest legal practice, ISOLAS1892, which, as the name suggests, can trace its roots back 118 years. The Fiduciary Group is one of the leading providers of financial services in the Iberian Peninsula with offices in five different countries and a total workforce (including ISOLAS1892) of around 120 staff.
How would you define your role as wealth managers?
Our business is to help clients protect the assets they already have and advise them on how to manage and grow them for the long term. We ensure clients preserve their legacy for their future and for the futures of those who depend on them. Essentially, what we do is to build, maintain and preserve wealth.
What services can you offer prospective clients?
Fiduciary Wealth advises across a wide range of financial services from investments, savings and tax wrappers through to insurance, QROPS and pensions plus mortgage finance. Furthermore, we offer a full suite of products from different providers ranging from the most competitively priced to those with the highest quality of cover.
What makes your company different to others which provide similar services?

Why have you felt the need to run QROPS seminars in Portugal?
I am disappointed at the quality of advice out there concerning QROPS. Some advisers are still selling QROPS on the basis that they can convert 100 per cent of the client’s pension benefits into cash. This action goes firmly against the spirit of what HMRC intended when giving individual QROPS schemes their stamp of approval. HMRC have the power to de-register, freeze and impose an unauthorised payment charge of 55 per cent on schemes which breach the rules. I would urge people to come to our QROPS seminars.
