Dear Editor,
After fighting for one year against the huge construction planned and approved by the Câmara in Portimão at Sítio de S. Francisco (opposite the convent), with only the back-up from the Algarve Resident newspaper (Algarve Resident May 28 edition), I was pleasantly surprised to see an article in the Portuguese newspaper Público about the same subject and supporting our cause.
Until now all Portuguese newspapers had rejected the story, which I sent to them all six to 10 months ago. The more people who know about what is going on the better.
Now both English and Portuguese speaking residents can be informed and I hope that more people, especially those who live in the area, now will take an interest.
