Budget airline charges

Dear Editor

There has been much press coverage about the ludicrous additional charges levied by the budget airlines for such things as admin fees, priority boarding, luggage etc.

I have just booked a flight from Gatwick to Faro with British Airways for next October. The fare quoted of £48 was what I paid and included a suitcase (23kgs), two pieces of hand luggage, complimentary snacks and drinks on the flight, no charge for payment by debit card and with the added bonus of extra legroom.

We sometimes forget that budget is not necessarily cheap and can work out much more expensive.
