Brussels worried by “lack of resources” to combat corruption in Portugal

Brussels is described as “worried by the lack of resources” in Portugal to combat corruption. The context is the courts “with special focus on the administrative and fiscal courts”, explains TSF radio. The European Commission is concerned that they need more human resources to have a “more efficient” investigation and control of corruption – particularly when it comes to corruption “at a high level”. A note published by the Commission has explained that “concerns persist over the efficient implementation of rules over conflicts of interest for public servants of high level”. The note shows concerns also over transparency.
