Brussels continues to ‘distrust’ TAP restructuring plan

The agonising wait for European funds to buoy-up national airline TAP continues this week as Brussels has said it really isn’t convinced that the government’s restructuring programme is viable. The executive now has to respond to a series of new questions by the middle of the month. This is seen as a hugely embarrassing situation for the government which increased its shareholding in the debt-ridden the airline only last year against a backdrop of criticism (on the basis that TAP isn’t worth the billions of ultimately taxpayers’ money being ploughed into it).
