A group of young British tourists on holiday in the Algarve were robbed and assaulted at their rented holiday property in the Montechoro area of Albufeira on September 19.
A spokesman from the GNR police told the Algarve Resident: “Burglars entered the house through a window at around 6.30am. While they were robbing the house, they were surprised by one of the tourists, whom they assaulted and left him bleeding from the nose.”
The house was one of five rented by the group of 10 friends, all in their 20s.
“The thieves stole sunglasses, a phone and an iPod,” added the GNR spokesman.
The group has decided to continue their holiday in the region but in different properties.
Investigations by the GNR police are continuing.
