British soldiers play at Boavista

A group of 16 British soldiers from the Royal Scots Dragoon Guards arrived in the Algarve last week for a few days of sunshine and golf. The group, led by Padre David Anderson, stayed at the Boavista Golf & Spa Resort. A challenging match was arranged between members of Boavista, predominantly from the Craft and Rollup Societies, and the soldiers, ending in an amicable draw.
The soldiers finished off their stay with a farewell dinner at Prato Cheio Restaurant attended by 40 people. At the dinner Padre David Anderson thanked everyone for the warm hospitality. David also presented a Regimental plaque, which is now showcased in the Club’s trophy cabinet.
The soldiers also played at the O’Connor and Palmares golf courses.
