A number of concerts with the focus on British classical music will be held in January, February and March by the Algarve Orchestra (OA).
British conductor and associate of the OA, John Avery, will conduct the series of concerts, including musical pieces from composers such as Fritz Spiegl, Robert Farnon, Karl Jenkins, Percy Grainger, Ralph Williams and Edward Elgar.
To kick-start the events, the University of the Algarve will host the OA tomorrow (Saturday) at the Grand Auditorium of the Gambelas campus.
Tickets cost € 7.50 and may be purchased upon arrival.
Following this event, further concerts will be held in Lagos, Faro, Albufeira, São Brás de Alportel and Portimão.
On January 27, which marks the 439th anniversary of the city of Lagos, the Algarve Orchestra will perform at the Lagos Cultural Centre.
