An English man has offered a 10,000 euro reward for any information that will lead to the finding of little Madeleine McCann.

Don Holmes, of Holmes & Smith Sociedade Lda, a construction company near Albufeira in the Algarve, has decided to offer this reward as he is personally shocked by the disappearance of little Maddy.

Mr Holmes, who is not related to the family, told The Resident: “I would like to try and help find her, as we are all shocked and desperately concerned for her welfare.”

He explained that the reasons for this generous reward are firstly Madeleine’s safe recovery and also to “stamp out as quickly as possible this awful story that will damage the Algarve’s reputation”.

For the past 10 years, Mr Holmes has been visiting the Algarve on a regular basis and says that the Algarve is a friendly family holiday place. He also added: “It will be years before people can come to terms with what has happened.”
