A 65-year-old British man died after feeling unwell on Odeceixe beach in Aljezur on Wednesday, according to a statement released by the national maritime authority (AMN).
Aljezur’s local firefighters were alerted at 3pm and rushed to the scene along with an INEM medical emergency team.
Attempts to resuscitate the man were unsuccessful and his death was declared at the scene.
AMN added that the body was taken to Portimão Hospital’s legal medicine office.
