The Portugal Branch of the British Legion is holding events across the Algarve later this month and into May.
These are open to everybody who appreciates the work of the British Legion and Britain’s armed forces, not just to retired military personnel, a significant number of whom live in the Algarve.
A lunch in the central Algarve for members and anyone interested in Legion activities is arranged for Wednesday, April 15 at the Navegador restaurant Alvor (contact Alun Roberts on [email protected])
There is also a monthly lunch for members and people living in the eastern Algarve on the first Sunday of every month except August, at Gunthers Restaurant, Olhão (contact Phil Ladbrook on [email protected]).
And after a membership expansion onto the Algarve’s west coast, the first-ever western branch luncheon is to be held at the Pont’a Pé Restaurant in Aljezur on Wednesday, April 29, starting at 12.30pm for 1pm. Cost is €17 per person.
Closing date for bookings is April 20 (contact James Howe on [email protected]).
Bookings are still being taken for the VE Day dinner at Lazy Jacks Bar & Grill on the Marina in Lagos on Saturday, May 9 at 7pm. The cost is €15 per person, with the first drink included, and early booking is vital as numbers are limited (contact James Howe on [email protected]).
