British Army Rugby Union played Walking Football at Browns Sports & Leisure Club

During their training camp at Browns Sports & Leisure Club the British Army Rugby Union management team played Walking Football against the centre’s over 50s team and it was the Army’s Director of Senior Rugby who stole the show.

Goalkeeper Colonel Andy ‘The Cat’ Deans MBE was in brilliant form as he denied the home side with some great saves, although he will have been disappointed with the one goal he let in!

At 1-1 the Browns Walking Footballers were holding their own against their younger opponents. Two late goals gave the army lads victory and the commemorative mug presented to Andy Deans will now take pride of place in the ARU trophy cabinet.

Walking Football for those over 50 years of age continues to track new players and to join in, just turn up and give it go:
