THE NEW British Ambassador for Portugal, Alexander Ellis, was due to visit the Algarve yesterday (Thursday) for the first time since his appointment to the post.
He was expected to arrive on Thursday evening for a reception at the Hotel Garbe in Armação de Pêra, organised by the British Consulate in Portimão. The dinner was due to be preceded by a special thank you from the Ambassador to the surfers who saved the lives of three British children on Tonel beach on October 22.
