British Ambassador visits Algarve to discuss ‘Brexit’ impact

British Ambassador to Portugal Kirsty Hayes will be arriving in the Algarve on Tuesday (July 12) to meet members of the British expat community to discuss the potential impact of UK’s EU referendum.

Hayes will take part in two public sessions – the first at the Cine Teatro in São Brás from 3pm to 4pm, and the second at Lagos’ Cultural Centre from 6pm to 7pm.

The ambassador will be “interested to hear about the concerns British residents in the Algarve might have about the impact of the UK’s withdrawal from the EU”.

The sessions are organised with the help of São Brás association ‘Amigos do Museu’ and Lagos borough council.

There are a limited number of places available, and registration is essential for people to be guaranteed a seat.

Similar sessions are expected in Lisbon and Porto “in due course”.
