BOLOTA BRANCA, a bespoke home décor company, started 10 years ago in the centre of Portimão through the hard work of Maria Conceição Atunes Azinhaira.
After experiencing significant growth in the business, Maria decided she needed a bigger space and better facilities and moved to a new location in Mexilhoeira de Carregação last year.
Upon entering the new Bolota Branca showroom, customers are greeted with a wide range of fabrics, curtains, blinds, bedspreads, cushions, headboards, accessories and furniture.
A love of art and creative spirit is very evident within the store and all the displays and accessories carry a traditional attention to detail.
Customers can browse through the fabric samples or look through the extensive catalogues and brochures of suppliers in store. Bolota Branca houses the more affordable Portuguese ranges to high quality Italian brands and assures that everything they supply is durable and of the best quality.
Maria believes the particular fabric of a curtain or design of a rug controls the ambience in a room and the flow of natural light throughout a house.

She has a significant background in design and places great emphasis on making sure her products are “harmonious, economical and affordable”.
Although there is a selection of shops in the Algarve offering home décor, Bolota Branca is different in what it aspires to provide. Rather than displaying top line ranges, Maria is focused on the home and creating an ambience familiar to the client. “We are very flexible to customer needs and can try to supply whatever they ask for.”
Once a client has decided on a design, Maria comes to the house to measure the area in question before she makes her order. The process of ordering, personalising the design and fitting can be completed within a month. Bolota Branca can also repair, refit and reupholster furniture.
Maria is always updating and upgrading the stock to make sure clients can find whatever shape, size, material, colour or pattern they are after.
Bolota Branca is situated on Rua de S. Pedro close to Boca do Rio resort. There is plenty of parking outside the showroom and there is also an outside area for children to play in while you look at your leisure.
