Six bridges on roads in the Lagos, Aljezur, Monchique and Silves councils will be examined to assess restoration works.

According to roads company Estradas de Portugal, the works, amounting to 140,000 Euros, aim to improve traffic conditions and safety.

A bridge on the EN120 near the village of Aljezur, another in Bensafrim (Lagos), a bridge crossing the EN124 road between Silves and São Bartolomeu de Messines, another on the EN267 in Monchique and a hydraulic bridge near Bensafrim on the EN120 road will all be assessed.

The project also includes the Areeiro pontoon near the town of Aljezur, towards the Alentejo on the EN120 road.
