More than €4.000 was raised at the end of a week-long bridge event in aid of local children´s charity, ACCA, on Saturday, November 5.
The event, organised by Quinta Jacintina, culminated in a “Swiss Teams” tournament at Dunas Douradas Beach Club in Vale do Lobo, with 72 competitors taking part over six rounds.
The winning team (pictured) comprised of Michael and Cathy Davies, Soheila Munro and Dicky Van Linden. Prizes were awarded by the Beach Club CEO Evy Ougenda.
A spokesman for Quinta Jacintina said: “Blevins Franks kindly agreed to sponsor the prizes for which ACCA are extremely grateful.”
The focus of the day was on playing cards and many participants enjoyed taking part in a game of “Play Your Cards Right”.
ACCA would like to thank organisers Susan Hamer, Mo Daud, Sally Roberts and Alex Onions, who was tournament director, as well as Helen Stebbed who coordinated the raffle.
