THE CHARITY Bridge Association (CBA) organised a bridge lunch to raise funds for St Mary’s Guild in São Pedro do Estoril, which looks after the poor and needy in the area. The event was supported by 44 people, who enjoyed lunch provided by the ladies of the Guild. There were nine tables of Duplicate Bridge and one table of Chicago. The winners of the Duplicate Bridge were North South James Scarlett and Mike Jervis, East West Joe Pereira and Richard Litvinoff. The winner of the Chicago section was Jeanne Rocha. The day resulted in the presentation of a cheque for 1,200 euros by the CBA chairman, Peter Hawkins, to the president of St Mary’s Guild, Rosina Espírito Santo, who was thanked for the hospitality and fine food.
