Break-in backfire

A thief in Australia was caught by police when he was forced to call an ambulance after cutting his wrist on a frozen chicken, which he was using as a tool to break into a café.

The man had stolen the chicken during an earlier break-in at a butcher’s shop in Macksville, north of Sydney, but came unstuck when he tried to use the frozen poultry and some rocks to break into a café, slashing open his wrist.

A police spokesman said that the 20-year-old thief thought he was dying and dialled an emergency number to call an ambulance before being arrested shortly after being treated by paramedics.
