Brazilian military police agent arrested in Lisbon on suspicion of cocaine trafficking

A lieutenant in the Military Police (PM) of Brazil has been arrested in Lisbon on suspicion of being part of a network smuggling cocaine into Europe. Aderaldo Freitas Neto was detained by PJ police working on ‘Operation North Tropical’ which has led to the apprehension of 3.2 million doses of cocaine, concealed in a consignment of pineapples. Say reports today, it could be that Freitas Neto is connected to the international ring formerly run by Sérgio Carvalho – another former member of Brazil’s PM, currently in jail in Hungary after years on the run from authorities.
