A 28-year-old Brazilian man was arrested in Praia da Rocha on February 11, for carrying out two attempted assaults on women.
The first occurred at 10pm in an underpass near the Babylone bar. The attacker threatened a 21-year-old woman with a knife, but she resisted and managed to escape with only a cut to the hand.
Shortly after, the man struck again on Rua António Feu where he attempted to assault another woman with the same knife. In this case, the woman was accompanied by a man who fought back and held the Brazilian captive until the police arrived. The attacker is now being held in custody at Portimão prison.
