Job opportunities for Portuguese doctors have been offered by the Brazilian government in their public health system, consisting of a €3,400 monthly salary and a three-year contract.
The medics will work exclusively in the basic care units while being supervised and guided by Brazilian doctors and public education institutes, and will have to work 40-hours per week in order to maintain their work visa.
Besides the set wage, the selected doctors will also receive support for their living and food expenses, as well as complete a specialisation course in basic care throughout the three years.
In the state of Bahia alone, 1,000 jobs were offered. Applicants had until July 25 to complete their registration.
