The BP Ultimate Portugal Cross Country Rally, which was announced recently as taking place between April 8 and 13 in the Algarve and Alentejo, has been cancelled due to the Covid-19 pandemic, organisers have confirmed.
The race, which would have been the first race of the year of the FIA World Cup for Cross-Country Rallies, was to be divided into five stages, totalling 800kms between Alcácer do Sal, Alcoutim, Almodôvar, Ferreira do Alentejo, Grândola, Loulé, Mértola, Odemira, Ourique, Santiago do Cacém and Sines.
Explains Alcoutim Council in a statement, organisers are trying to postpone the race to another date towards the end of the year in hopes that the pandemic will have improved by then.
