Boy raises money for animal charity

A nine-year-old Dutch boy has raised 140 euros for the Association for the Protection of Animals in the Algarve (APAA).

Mickey Danko from Huizen in Holland was so distressed by the plight of stray dogs while on holiday at his aunt’s house in the Algarve that he decided to do something to help.

When he returned home, Mickey gathered together a group of friends to help him make made wooden candlesticks, photo frames and other items which they sold door-to-door and raised 140 euros. This money, together with a further donation of 10 euros, has been donated to APAA.

APAA Board member, Jenny Clarke, was delighted to accept the money raised by Mickey and his friends and promised that it would be put to good use helping homeless dogs.
