Boy escapes car before it plunges off cliff

An Australian boy escaped with just cuts and bruises after jumping from the family car moments before it plunged off a cliff.

The seven-year-old boy jumped out of the window after playing with the handbrake and accidentally releasing it.

The vehicle began to roll down the driveway, through two fences and went over an eight-metre cliff and onto a beach.

Witnesses saw the boy jump from the window when it was just three metres from the cliff edge.

The young boy and his mother and brother were visiting a relative in Sydney. His mother had parked the four wheel drive at the top of the driveway.

Police who were at the scene said the boy redefined the word ‘lucky’.
