A NEW bowling green is to open in the Vale do Lobo complex in September, located in Zone Nutopia by the back of the seventh tee of the Royal Golf Course. It will be the sixth green in the Algarve and has already been accepted into the Algarve Bowling League.
Bowling director Richard Hepburn, an official coach with 35 years’ bowling experience, will be offering coaching sessions for new players. The club hopes to encourage as many people as possible to try their hand at bowls, as it makes a pleasant change to the golf and tennis played in the area. The Algarve’s profile is constantly growing in the bowling world, with the European Lawn Bowling Championships taking place in Vilamoura this November.
