Bowls Algarve

Well – contrary to anticipation, it happened! Week 9 of the 2012/13 Inter Club Winter League took place on the due date and in fantastic weather.

In detail: Top of the table, Cats travelled to next-to-bottom Rangers and were beaten 57 shots to 53 albeit that the points were shared four all.

Second-placed Foresters visited the Tigers and took them to the cleaners, winning by 64 shots to 26 and taking home all eight points.

Third in the table Terriers, four  weeks without a win, continued their misfortune at the hands of the Amigos who beat them 56 shots to 51 and six points to two.

Finally, fourth placed Greens continued their steady progress with a 57 to 40 shots victory over the Gladiators and secured another eight points to Nil.

So at the halfway stage, the positions are as follows:  Cats have 53 points, Foresters 40, Greens 37, Amigos 35, Terriers 34, Tigers 27, Scorpions 23, Rangers 22 and Gladiators 17.
