Summer League matches were played on Thursday, June 29 at Valverde Bowling Club, Almancil.
Alvor Kestrels won the day by taking all 10 points in their match against Floresta Falcons. Tavira Tigers took nine points from Valverde Vikings winning only one point. This keeps Tavira Tigers in the top slot in the league.
Balaia Dolphins won eight points against Alvor Egrets who won two points, moving them up one place in the table.
Pedras Panthers won six points against Valverde Vulcans who took four points. This changes the league table somewhat, with Tavira Tigers remaining in the top slot, Alvor Kestrels move up to second place, with Pedras Panthers continuing to snap at their heels, and Balaia Dolphins moving up to fourth place.
Valverde Vulcans and Valverde Vikings are supporting the league from the bottom. Next Thursday, July 6 is the League Final at Alvor Bowling Club, with all still to play for, and a great match in store for those who watch.
In keeping with their fundraising activities, Balaia Bowls Club is holding a sponsored 24-hour bowling marathon on September 16 and 17 in aid of Albufeira Voluntary Firefighters.
