The second series of matches of the summer league took place at Amendoeira on Thursday, May 21.  The new venue was a new challenge for all, while the host club were playing their first fixture in the league.

Newcomers Amendoeira got off to a winning start, beating Albufeira Cats by 37 shots to 31 and by six points to four, while Alvor Larks recovered from their defeat last week to defeat Valverde in another close match by 37-32 and eight points to two.

Meanwhile, Alvor Doves continued their winning ways, just getting the nod ahead of Pedras by 35-29 and six points to four. In the final fixture, PDF Pirates registered their first victory, beating Alvor Eagles, also playing their first match, by 35-23 and eight points to two.

This leaves the Doves leading the table on 14 points, closely followed by Valverde and Pedras on 12 each, while the Pirates and Larks are on 10 points apiece. Amendoeira have six, Cats are on four and the Eagles have two after only playing in one fixture so far.

In round three next week, the teams travel to Cabanas (Pedras) for their first taste of the new green over there.
