Series six of the Summer League saw the clubs descend on Pedras, Cabanas, on Thursday, June 18.

Albufeira Cats clashed with PDF Pirates and the Pirates won convincingly by 37-22 and by 9 points to 1. This improved Pirates league situation quite dramatically, but Cats’ continue to languish. Amendoeira and Pedras played out a tight match, Amendoeira eventually gaining the upper hand by 39-31 and 6 points to 4.

Alvor Doves continued their smooth progress towards the league championship with a narrow 34-32 win over Valverde, claiming another 6 points against 4 to Valverde. Alvor Doves and Alvor Eagles played out a strange game, as the Eagles won only one set, but this was by 22-4, ensuring they won overall 36-30, but Larks took 6 points to 4.

Doves push on ahead of the pack on 43 points, well ahead of Pedras on 36 and Eagles on 34. Valverde have 30 points, closely followed by the improving Pirates on 29 and the Larks on 28 points. Amendoeira remain in touch with 27, however the Cats have found it hard to get going this year and lag behind on 13 points.

The final round of fixtures takes the teams to Parque da Floresta next Thursday for the grand finale and presentation of trophies.
