Summer finally arrived in the Algarve with a gloriously hot day for our game on Thursday, June 14 at Pedras da Rainha Bowling Club in Cabanas, and all the teams are fighting for their places in the league.
Albufeira Wildcats were beaten by Valverde Vikings who took all 10 points. Tavira Tigers held onto six points whilst Floresta Falcons took four points, Valverde Vulcans also held onto six points against Pedras Panthers who won four points, and Alvor Egrets took two points from Balaia Dolphins who held onto a valuable eight points.
Alvor Kestrels were the resting team this week.
Balaia Dolphins still maintain their top spot in the League Table with 41 points, joint second place being held by Floresta Falcons, Pedras Panthers and Valverde Vikings, all closing in on 30 points each, and Valverde Vulcans on 29 points.
Alvor Egrets are now supporting the table with 18 points.
Balaia Dolphins have yet to have their resting week but are slowly pulling away from the rest of the table at the top of the league and remain difficult to catch.
Three games still to play and the bottom of the table is just as much open as is the top. Alvor Kestrels have 24 points whilst Tavira Tigers and Albufeira Wildcats are fighting it out with 19 points each followed closely by Alvor Egrets on 18 points. It still could be anyone’s game at both ends of the table.
