The final round of the first half of the season saw all teams determined to go into the Christmas break with a good performance.
Alvor Harlequins continued their improved form with a 61-46 victory at home to the Pedras Panthers. Harlequins taking six points to two.
Albufeira Cats had already beaten the Crusaders at PDF in an earlier encounter, 60-47 and seven points to one. Valverde Vikings clashed with the visiting Alvor Gladiators and shared the points four apiece, although Gladiators pinched the two bonus points, winning overall 60-40.
Amendoeira Nuts won only their second match of the season by defeating the Valverde Vulcans 71-32 and grabbing all eight points. The Tavira Tigers have also had an uneven season and this week struggled at home against the visiting Alvor Amigos, losing by 55-44, although the points were split four each.
In the final game, the Alvor Greens were at home to the PDF Sinners and recorded their tenth victory of the season. Greens proved too strong for the Sinners, winning 85-23 and taking the eight points.
Greens consolidate their lead at the halfway point with 74 points. Cats are second with 61, followed by Panthers on 53 and Crusaders on 52 points. Gladiators have 51 and the Tigers now have 50. Harlequins improve to 49 points whilst Amigos and Vikings are tied on 40 each. Nuts go up one place with 22, equal with the Sinners. Vulcans remain in the basement with 12 points.
