The two PDF teams went head to head on a very blustery, but sunny, Saturday (November 7) and the Crusaders took the opportunity to improve their position with a 69-29 victory and a full eight points.
Alvor Harlequins were at home to the Tavira Tigers and ran out 62-46 winners and earned six points, the Tigers going home with two points. Amendoeira Nuts hosted Valverde Vikings, who had a very good away win by 51-38, taking six points to two.
Valverde Vulcans meanwhile, were at home to the unbeaten and free-scoring Alvor Greens, who continued on their winning way with a 75-25 victory and another maximum eight points. Pedras Panthers have made a promising start to their league career and continued this with a close encounter against the visiting Alvor Amigos. Amigos won a close match 52-45 and shared the points 4-4, lifting themselves off the bottom of the table. In the final match this weekend, Alvor Gladiators were the home team to the visiting Albufeira Cats, who took the honours, winning 54-35 and by six points to two.
Greens continue out in front on 38 points, ahead of the Panthers on 29. Crusaders have leapt into third on 23, just in front of the Gladiators with 22 points. Harlequins are now making steady progress and are now fifth with 20 points. Three teams are locked together on 18 points, Cats, Sinners and Tigers. Then come the Vikings with 16. Amigos have also improved, moving into tenth place with 10 points, Nuts also have ten points, whilst the Vulcans slip into the basement with eight points.
