Only one more series of matches after this one before the Christmas break, so all teams were eager to finish the first half on a high note.
Pedras Panthers played host to the Amendoeira Nuts and made a definite statement with a crushing 52-35 victory and eight points.
PDF Crusaders made up ground after a bad defeat during the week. They entertained the Alvor Gladiators and took six points to two, winning 58-46.
PDF Sinners, meanwhile, crashed at home to the Valverde Vikings, losing 59-44 and six – two on points. Valverde Vulcans had a day to forget, losing at home to the resurgent Harlequins by 79-40 and by eight points to nil.
ABC Cats took on the Tavira Tigers and pocketed another six points, winning by 59-39, continuing their impressive recent form. The final game of the session was between the Alvor Amigos, coming off a good run of results and the table – topping Alvor Greens. Greens won comfortably by 65-26 and took all eight points to consolidate their position on top.
In a match played earlier in the week, brought forward from December 12, Cats went to PDF and took seven points to one off the Crusaders, winning 60-47. Cats therefore have completed their half season and now await the results of the last weekend to see how the teams finish the pre-Christmas session.
Greens are now on 66 points with a game in hand, whilst the Cats are on 61. Crusaders have 52 and Panthers have 51. Gladiators are fifth with 47 points, closely followed by the Tigers who have 46. The Harlequins improve to 43 and the Amigos remain on 36 points, equal with the Vikings. Sinners have 22, Nuts have 14 and the Vulcans are on 12 points.
